The Quick Bite: A clean, organic, melt-in-your-mouth dairy-free yogurt that eats more like a healthy whipped cream than a tart traditional yogurt. It has some stubborn coconut chunks upon opening, but the overall texture and clean ingredients make it totally worth it.
- Flavor Profile: Mild, subtly sweet, coconut-forward with zero added sugar.
- Texture: Light, airy, mousse-like (think Yoplait Whipped with more body).
- Ingredient Count: 5 simple, organic ingredients.
- Best For: Eating straight out of the tub with a spoon, blending into overnight oats, or using as a dairy-free cold foam on iced coffee.
- Overall Rating: 9/10
Once upon a time, I had a bad experience with coconut-based yogurt that made me think I didn’t like it. I was devastated because1 I love coconut,2 my favorite YouTuber swore by it, so why wasn’t it working for me??? 😭
After that, I avoided all coconut-based yogurt for a very long time.
But then one day, I realized holding a grudge against yogurt isn’t normal healthy. So I decided it was time to give it another go, and yeah,
Cocojune is not like that other yogurt. Not at all.
What I Think About Cocojune Pure Coconut Yogurt
Cocojune is like whipped cream, but healthy. Healthy whipped cream, you could say. These are all the boxes it checks, for me.
- rich but not too rich
- light and airy AF
- zero added sugar
- mild tanginess
- organic
- short ingredients list
Taste
Cocojune is pretty coconut-forward, which is great if you like coconut flavor. There isn’t any sugar added so it isn’t really sweet at all, but it’s also not as tart as unsweetened dairy yogurt.
The tang is mild. Nothing too crazy. It is yogurt so there’s going to be some acidity from the fermentation process, but nothing that will knock your socks off. Quite the opposite, actually. Its mild flavor is part of what makes this really enjoyable.
Texture
When you peel back the lid, it looks like your average cup of yogurt. Nothing special, really (but it does smell really nice).
Stirring it is a different story.
WARNING!!
There are chunks. No matter how much I stirred, the chunky bits wouldn’t disappear. But it ended up being okay because they totally dissolve when you actually take a bite.
The texture reminds me a lot of Yoplait Whipped, but cleaner and with more body. It has a kind of luxurious, melt-in-your-mouth, mousse-like texture. Very similar to an aerosol whipped cream, but richer.
Price
I bought a 4 oz container from Amazon Fresh for $1.67. (Prices may vary, though)
How I Plan To Use Cocojune Dairy Free Yogurt
Tbh, I ate the whole cup, plain, with no add-ins. I’m positive it’s absolutely delicious with fruit and nuts and all that, but when I tried it, I couldn’t bring myself to stop eating it long enough to look for any. And if I’m being honest, I didn’t want to.
This yogurt is really good, just by itself.
Of course, if you want to be adventurous, I would imagine this yogurt is pretty versatile. For example, I definitely plan on dipping some berries and bananas into it for a little, sweet treat later.
But I’d imagine there are other uses, too, like:
🥞 Stirred into pancake batter to make them super tender and fluffy
🧋 Whipped and spooned onto iced coffee for a makeshift cold faux-m
🥣 Mixed into overnight oatmeal
Overall,
I think it’s safe to call Cocojune my new favorite coconut-based yogurt.
It’s convenient. I keep a large container in my fridge for when I have no time to eat, but need something quick.
It’s really easy to build on. Some dried fruit here, a handful of nuts there, maybe a swirl of nut butter somewhere in there, too. Whatever you like. You can make it your own.
It’s clean and organic. The list of ingredients is easy to read AND understand. Plus, there are only 5 of them.
